17–18.30 Tanhujalostamo-seminar – folk intelligence or artificial art?
Discussion on the latest phenomena in folk dance and music. Oulu University of Applied Sciences senior lecturer, docent Pekka Isomursu will introduce the topic Folk art and artificial intelligence, followed by a panel discussion with Annamari Martinviita, Jouni Prittinen and Niina Rajaniemi. The discussion will be moderated by docent Petri Hoppu. The event will be streamed. Sampola auditorium. Free admission.

19–20.30 Tanssimylly 1
Folk dance showcase for groups of adults and youth. The groups are Sevoittarii, Huurteiset, Vinkkarit, Särmä, Karjalan Nuorten Kärri, Riijarit.

21–21.45 Ilmasta tehtyjä
A dance piece set to music by Samuli Putro. Folk dance group Sevoittarii. Choreography by Maiju Laurila, music arrangement by Simo Helkala. Sampolan juhlasali. Tickets 20 €/ 15 € / 10 €

22.30–23.45 Tanssilauluja – Iles-Lajunen-Rauhala-Volanto
The intimate acoustic sound of two singers and two double basses gently invites you to dance a waltz, polka, hambo, schottishce, even a mazurka!
Tampereen Ylioppilasteatteri. Tickets 15 €/ 10 €

Folk dance showcase for groups of adults and youth. The groups are Motoran Säpäkät, Motoran Vinhakat, Siepakat Juniorit, Iloset, Roigu, Kimara, Polokkarit.

14–15.50 Tanssimylly 3
Folk dance showcase for groups of adults and youth. The groups are Motoran Riehakat, Flikat, Railo, Ottoset, Pähiät, Siepat, Fossiilit.

18:30–20:30 Tanssimylly 4
Folk dance showcase for groups of adults and youth. The groups are Hipasu, Rutistus, Karjalan Nuorten Tärsky, Hämmäys, Elokset, Sarastus, Juntu, Siepakat Edustus.

21–24 Tradijamit
Folkmusic group Polenta, Couple dance workshop with Kataja, accordionist Antti Paalanen.

Folk dance showcase for groups of adults and youth. The groups are Karjalan Nuorten Roihu, Hippa, Pirttiset, Ritinä, Kuohu, Kimurantti.

16–17 TRADI - final concert
New dance works on the stage. Saalis by Ruuhkaryhmä, Taivaanrannan tarha by Motoran Pelmakat. Publication of the reviews of the Tanssimylly-showcase.

TRADI brings to Tampere the latest winds of folk dance and the boldest works that give tradition a new shape. The festival will feature new dance works that draw their content from rich folk traditions, but look boldly to the future.

The programme also includes a national folk dance showcase, showcasing the diversity of the genre from all over Finland. In the evenings, the atmosphere is set to soar with dancefloor-shaking nightclubs where folk rhythms take you away. 

It's an energetic and vibrant festival where movement, rhythm and tradition meet!
